Meet George, Your Watchmaker

Vagarshak “George” Agasiev, our master watchmaker, brings more than 30 years of experience to our Parker workshop. He holds Omega authorization certificates, displayed in our showroom, and has Swatch Group authorization to obtain parts for many of its brands. All mechanical work is performed in-house.

For older or rare watches, original parts may no longer be available. We’ll explain suitable alternatives and discuss condition, originality, and cost before you approve the work.

Services, Starting Prices & Typical Timing

Prestige Watches & Jewelry handles everyday watch needs and complex bench work in the same Parker store. Paid repair work begins only after review, inspection when needed, estimate, and clear customer approval. The guide below gives honest starting points; the final quote depends on the watch, condition, parts, and service factors.

Water-resistant battery and gasket packageFrom about $45Usually 2-3 days
Bracelet sizing and link workFrom about $10Often 5-10 minutes on site
Spring bars and band installsOften no charge; parts or service charge may applyUsually quick when parts fit

Authentication, appraisal, or written evaluationFrom about $50Usually 2-3 days; multi-watch discounts may apply

Completed repair services carry a one-year warranty on the work performed. If a separate unrelated part fails from age, wear, impact, or water exposure, Prestige Watches & Jewelry will still review it fairly, but warranty coverage applies to the repair work actually performed.

Movement and timing

Full mechanical service, automatic service, quartz service, pocket watches, chronographs, timing checks, demagnetizing, and movement evaluations. Mechanical, automatic, vintage, and pocket watch service typically starts around $125 and usually has a 2-3 week minimum. Chronograph service is quoted higher because the movement has more parts and a more labor-intensive service path.

Case, crystal, and water resistance

Crystal replacement, stem and crown work, case and bracelet work, water-resistance checks, water-pressure testing, air-pressure testing, gasket replacement, crown gasket replacement when applicable, and water-resistant battery packages. Basic batteries often take 10-15 minutes on site; water-resistant packages usually take 2-3 days because the watch is cleaned, resealed, reassembled, and tested.

Restoration and fabrication

Polishing, refinishing, ultrasonic cleaning, dial refinishing review, custom part fabrication, parts fitting, battery replacement, band replacement, and small bench jobs that keep watches wearable. Standalone polishing and refinishing usually starts around $50 and often takes 1-2 days. Vintage or collectible watches are reviewed carefully because too much refinishing can hurt originality.

Smart watch note: Prestige Watches & Jewelry does not service Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, or similar smart wearables, except occasional band replacement when the lugs allow for standard watch-band work.

Common issues we see

The most common service problem is simple: the watch has gone far past its service interval. Mechanical and automatic watches often arrive with dried lubrication, weak power reserve, timing drift, moisture, or crown symptoms. Quartz watches may look like a battery job but reveal leakage, a failed movement, or gasket issues. Prestige Watches & Jewelry checks the condition first, then explains the estimate before work begins.

Water resistant is not waterproof

Many customers read a caseback or marketing phrase and assume the watch can go anywhere. Water resistance depends on seals, age, crown position, crystal fit, case condition, and testing. A water-resistant battery package can include gasket replacement, crown gasket replacement when applicable, cleaning, light polishing if wanted, reassembly, and pressure testing. Water resistant is not waterproof.

What we check before starting repair

A watch that has stopped is not always a simple battery or service repair. Prestige Watches & Jewelry checks the condition first, we then explain what we find, and we start working on your piece only after approval.

Online watch repair questions

These answers cover common decisions before a repair. The individual service pages below include more detail about symptoms, prices, and timing.

The price depends on the movement, condition, parts, and work required. Mechanical, automatic, vintage, and pocket watch service typically starts around $125; chronographs are quoted higher. Submit the free repair request with photos, then we’ll explain whether inspection is needed before quoting the work. You approve the quote before paid repairs begin.

A stopped quartz watch may need a battery, but leakage, moisture, or movement damage can cause similar symptoms. A straightforward battery replacement often takes 10–15 minutes in the showroom. A water-resistant battery package usually takes 2–3 days for cleaning, resealing, reassembly, and testing. We’ll explain the appropriate option after checking the watch.

Mechanical, automatic, vintage, and pocket watch service usually has a 2–3 week minimum. Parts sourcing, complicated movements, and testing can extend that time. Basic batteries often take 10–15 minutes; polishing and refinishing often takes 1–2 days. Mail-in service also includes shipping, inspection, and quote approval. We’ll give you timing for your watch after review.

A watch can be worth repairing for its usefulness, value, or personal history. Tell us what it means to you and how you want to wear it. We’ll consider condition, parts availability, and the likely result, then explain the options and cost so you can decide.

Send clear photos, the brand and model if known, symptoms, service history, and what you want repaired. Wait for our reply and shipping instructions. If we request inspection, pack and insure the watch as instructed and include your repair reference. We’ll inspect it and send a quote; work begins after approval and invoice payment.

Repair decisions are explained first

Some watches benefit from refinishing, while others are better preserved more conservatively. Prestige Watches & Jewelry talks through that choice before doing anything irreversible.
