Water Resistance Diagnostics
Watch pressure testing and water-resistance diagnostics
Prestige Watches & Jewelry offers pressure testing, gasket review, and water-resistance diagnostics for quartz, mechanical, automatic, and high-end watches.

Water resistant is not waterproof
Pressure testing and gasket service typically starts around $45 and goes up depending on the watch, gasket availability, crown condition, and whether the watch needs additional service. The water-resistant package can include gasket replacement, crown gasket replacement when applicable, cleaning, light polishing when appropriate, reassembly, and pressure testing.
Prestige Watches & Jewelry also pressure tests automatic and mechanical watches when water resistance matters. A test result is a diagnostic snapshot, not a lifetime promise, because seals age and crown position, impact, and wear can change protection.
Typical starting points
Pressure testing and gasket package: from about $45.
Timing: often 2-3 days when combined with battery and gasket service.
Best for: watches with gasket, crown, crystal, or water exposure questions.
When pressure testing is useful
Pressure testing is useful after battery and gasket work, crown or crystal work, case opening, or when a customer wants to understand whether a watch can safely return to water exposure. If moisture is already visible, intake should happen quickly.
After case opening
A watch that has been opened may need seals checked before water exposure.
After crown or crystal work
Crown, tube, crystal, and gasket work should be considered together.
Before regular wear
Testing helps set expectations before swimming, washing, or weather exposure.
